Bishop Marjorie Holt, Ph. D.

Bishop Marjorie L. Holt

Marjorie L. Holt was born in Samson, Alabama and currently resides in Toledo, Ohio. She earned a B. A. Degree in Sociology from Payne College, Studied the M. P. A. degree program at the University of Toledo, and earned a Master of Social Work, M. S. W. from Clark Atlanta University, and a Ph. D. in Sociology and Psychotherapy from Kensington University. Although highly successful, her most prized degree is her B. A. being born again.  Dr. Holt has earned numerous awards, resolutions, and commendations on a local, state, and national level. She was selected in 2010 from among thousands of women to represent the State of Ohio as the delegate for Vision 2020 National Initiative.

Dr. Holt has served in many arenas in the City of Toledo. She was a Talk Show Host for WTOL TV 11, WTVG 13, WNWO TV 24, WNGT TV 48, and WJCM  AM and WKKO FM Radio. She was also on Cable TV channels 8 & 13.

Dr. Holt is the Founder and Pastor of Bethesda Christian Center for 20 years. She is also the Founder and Presiding Prelate of The Interfaith Fellowship Of Churches; Chairperson for the Toledo Gospel Arts Festival for 14 Years, Founder of the Toledo Gospel Music Awards, Producer of the War On Crack Gospel Tour, and served as the 2nd only African American Deputy Registrar in Northwest Ohio to hold that position. Dr. Holt is also an educator. She was a Professor at Monroe County Community College, Monroe, Mi., and Herzing University, Toledo Campus. She has been a Social Worker for many years and retired in 2015 from the Lucas County Children Services where she served as the Minority Affairs and Inclusion Director.

While she has impacted the faith community locally and nationally, she was sought out to reach beyond her local calling and was consecrated as a Bishop in 2004 by the Interdenominational Assembly of Churches, where Bishop Andre Sonny Woods is the Presiding Prelate. And to her tribute to reach beyond the pulpit, she has become known by many as “Toledo's Conscience”, where other responsibilities connected her to local government. She was the first female Clergy to serve in the role as Executive Assistant to the Late Mayor Jack Ford in 2002, and later was appointed as the First Commissioner of Training for the City of Toledo. She was appointed to the Civil Service Commission for the City of Toledo in 2010 and was reappointed in 2015 where she was selected as the President of the Commission. Bishop Holt is also the author of 13 books to date. She too is the Founder of The LeMarje Collection, a unique and one of a kind Necklace Company. She was blessed as First Lady Michelle O'bama wears a piece of the Collection.

Out of the need to hear and obey as a rule for Bishop Holt, she quickly transitioned into doing more for the community and THE INTERFAITH GAZETTE NEWSPAPER was birthed on December 2, 2015. To date the paper reaches as far as the states of New York, Washington, D. C., Florida, New Jersey, Alabama, and many more. It is expected that Bishop Holt's life will continue to expand the globe as she continues to preach, reach, each; as she believes that everyone has V.I.P. , Vision, Initiative, and Potential!
