The winter months are hard for a lot of reasons for many people and certainly for those who have no basic amenities to live comfortably. It was the hearts and minds of two giving companies, individuals, and a church, who thought it “supportive and decent” to give socks to those who are homeless and without basic necessities to keep their feet warm during the winter months especially.
While Bethesda Christian Center has relocated to 5967 Telegraph Rd. (In the Pavilion Plaza), their mission remains steadfast to
provide for those in need, as has been part of their service to the community for the 24 years that they have existed.
Bishop Marjorie Holt, Senior Servant at Bethesda Christian Center, approached the Partners in the Plaza who said “YES “ we will help and provided several packs of socks that included children and adult sizes. Those partners who gave willingly and without hesitation, were Knight Industries and City Glass. The donation was given to the Family House Shelter for families located at 669 Indiana Ave., Toledo, Oh.
The Shelter offers a variety of services and programs that are family centered for the purpose of meeting the need of emergency shelter for children and parents. If in need of services and shelter for your family, you may call them at 419.242.5505. We pray for continued support for this great resource for our families in the Toledo area!
